Nike + Receiver Faqs

When you connect the Nike + iPod Receiver to the iPod nano, you should see the Nike+iPod menu on the iPod nano. If the Nike+iPod menu does not appear, try these steps to address the issue:

1. Verify your iPod nano has the latest version of iPod nano Software. If it’s not version 1.2 or later, download the latest version and update your iPod nano.
2. Verify your computer has the latest iTunes software (this should be iTunes 6.0.5 or later).
3. Visually inspect the iPod nano dock connector and the Nike + iPod Receiver for foreign debris/matter.
4. Go to the Main menu on the iPod nano.
5. Connect the Nike + iPod Receiver to the iPod nano.
6. If the Nike+iPod menu item appears in the Main menu, then the issue is resolved.
7. If the Nike+iPod menu item does not appear, disconnect the Nike + iPod Receiver.
8. Reset the iPod nano and repeat Steps 4-7.
9. With the receiver connected, choose Settings > About and scroll to the bottom of About screen. If you see:
* Nike+iPod Receiver 1.0.1
then, on the Main menu, choose Extras. Look for the Nike+iPod menu there. If it’s there, then it was turned off in Settings. Either access it from the Extras menu or configure Settings so Nike+iPod appears on the Main menu.
10. If the problem persists and you have access to another receiver, connect it to the iPod nano. If the Nike+iPod menu appears, service the first receiver.
11. If the Nike+iPod menu still does not appear, connect the iPod nano to a computer using the USB cable. If the iPod is recognized by iTunes, service the Nike + iPod Receiver. If not, service the iPod nano.
