Microsoft picks Toshiba to make iPod rival 
Microsoft Corp. said Friday it has chosen Toshiba Corp. to collaborate on its upcoming “Zune” portable media player, which it hopes will go head-to-head with Apple Computer Inc.’s market-leading iPod.
